التخاصــــــب هي ظاهرة تنتج عن وفرة المواد العضوية و النترات والفسفور في المياه الجارية و الراكدة… فالمياه تصبح غنية بالمواد الإقتياتية فتتكاثر فيها الطحالب المجهرية لتصبح تشبه الشربة الخضراء ويقل حجم الأكسجين في المجاري وتصبح المياه ملوثة و لا تصلح لعيش الأسماك و وتنتج منها رائحة كريهة بسبب عمليات التخمر التي تحدث بسبب غياب الأكسجين.
