وقيل انه لم يعرف مصدر هذا اللقب انما هو لقب غلب عليه
ولطرفة لقب اخر وهو { الغلام القتيل } اشتهر به بعد موته
ويعد اهم من ذكر هذا اللقب هو الشاعر لبيد بن ربيعة العامري
