During the Mamluk era, similar to current times, various sciences were taught in schools. The main subjects studied included religious studies focusing on the Quran, interpretation, hadith, and Islamic jurisprudence; linguistic studies such as grammar and poetry; philosophical and logical studies; and applied sciences like astronomy, chemistry, and medicine. The scientific movement flourished during this period due to the support of sultans towards scholars, their warm reception, and the focus on building educational institutions and holding cultural and scientific councils. This period marked a significant development in various fields of knowledge during the Mamluk era.
