اسم المؤرخ الملقب ب القلقشندي هو ابو العباس شهاب الدين احمد القلقشندى ولد فى قلقشنده القليوبيه سنة 1355 – وتوفى سنة 1418 فى القاهرة اديب و لغوى مصرى كبير من مؤرخين مصر فى العصور الوسطى .
Abu al-Abbas Shihab al-Din Ahmad al-Qalqashandi, also known as al-Qalqashandi, was a prominent Egyptian writer and historian during the medieval era. Born in Qalqashanda al-Qalyubiyah in 1355, he passed away in Cairo in 1418. He was known for his literary and linguistic contributions and was considered one of the great historians of Egypt during the Middle Ages.
