سبب ان الطير الجمهوري اليمني فارد جناحيه علي العلم الوطني وذلك بسبب إنطلاق اليمن إلي التحرر.
وأيضا يدل علي أن الشعب اليمني شعب كريم ودائما يرحب بمن يأتي إليه، ففرد جناحيه يدل علي الترحيب.
إن رمز طير الجمهورية اليمنية هو طائر (النسر) وذلك لأن النسر يرمز إلي قوة الشعب.

It also signifies that the Yemeni people are generous and always welcome those who come to them, as spreading its wings symbolizes hospitality.
