الزلزال الذي ضرب مدينة زموري، أكد بوناطيرو، أنه راجع لأربعة أسباب أساسية، وهي هشاشة الطبقة الأرضية لهذه الولاية جراء زلزال بومرداس سنة 2003، بالإضافة إلى حدوث انفجارات شمسية في الفضاء خلال الأسبوع الماضي، ما تسبب في ارتفاع غير مسبوق في درجات الحرارة، “وبعد انخفاض الحرارة أيام الجمعة والسبت إلى 2 درجة تحت الصفر في بعض الولايات، تسبب هذا التغيّر المفاجئ في تباين درجات الحرارة في أعماق الأرض، والذي تمخض عنه ضغط عال ساهم في تحريك الطبقة الأرضية.
